Really would like to understand the whole IP thing. That is why I installed Yesware to help with my companies sales and marketing campaigns. So, on the read reports I started watching the IP's to see the cities of our target areas and I started getting back the following.. what kind of IP address is 2600:100e:bo2d:488:dac4:6fe1:6159:dea0 or 2600:100e:b02d:b9e4:cd4a:d4c3:8280. Also, in the yesware reports I would get back multiple IP reports for the same person at the same time opening the same email and and all IP's were different.. Then I started emailing myself opening them from same and different locations around the city and for 1 email session opening 3 different emails all within minutes of eachother in the same location these are all the IP's I recieved back in my repots of where I had been (approximately) in many different states and cities all at the same time

There are two IP type being used today: IPv4 and IPv6.

The most common IP used today is IPv4, which has the 4 octats of 8-bit number. The other long IP form, i.e. 2600:100e:b02f:4900:ffd8:de66:1b86:4b8c is IPv6 and only 4% of world population use this. We currently do not support IP location service from IPv6 addresses. We have a plan to support IPv6 address location in the very near future.
